Asset management
ICMA is one of the very few European trade associations that has both buy and sell side firms among its members.

The ICMA Asset Management and Investors Council (AMIC) represents the views of ICMA’s investment community. The AMIC and its members have been active in a number of important discussions with regulators. Most recently, AMIC has contributed to consultations on securitisation, systemic risk, derivatives clearing and the use of dealing commissions. In the systemic risk work stream, AMIC has set up a new working group on Fund Liquidity which is developing thought leadership on the tools available to fund managers to manage liquidity. In previous years, AMIC has set out principles for better managing clients’ expectations. The AMIC has also looked at the issue of corporate governance, more specifically, shareholder engagement and remuneration policy, and valuation of illiquid assets. Other regulatory issues where the AMIC has been active include Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), Solvency II, and developments regarding hedge funds and money market funds.

The ICMA AMIC Covered Bond Investor Council (CBIC) is a special interest grouping representing investors in this important asset class. For more information contact the CBIC secretariat cbic@icmagroup.org.
